A conservative speaker was assaulted Thursday at the University of Missouri-Kansas City after a student sprayed him with what was feared to be a toxic substance.

Commentator Michael Knowles was presenting the conservative side of the transgender debate in a speech titled “Men Are Not Women” when he was attacked, The Hill reported.

In a video of the incident, police are shown tackling the assailant and they appeared to use a stun gun in the process. The student was then arrested.

Police said student Gerard Dabu sprayed Knowles with what was later found to be a mixture lavender oil and other nontoxic household liquids.

“A UMKC student identified as Gerard G. Dabu has been charged with peace disturbance — disturbing schools or lawful assemblies; assault on law enforcement; and property damage. Dabu was arrested Thursday night and released on bond. Today, Dabu also has been charged with assault and resisting arrest of law enforcement and in the discharge of their duties,” the university said in a statement, according to The Wrap .

UMKC Chancellor C. Mauli Agrawal, in an email to students, sought to explain the police reaction.

“Police had no choice but to react as if the substance was an immediate danger. Tests later revealed the substance to be lavender oil and some other non-toxic household liquids. A campus disciplinary investigation is under way,” he wrote in the email.

Knowles said that his freedom to present his opinion was abridged from the start of his presentation on the campus.

“From the very beginning, a loud contingent of leftist students shouted relentlessly in an attempt to drown out my speech. After some time, they stood up to leave. At that point, a masked assailant approached out of my periphery and shot an odorous, strangely colored liquid at me, at which point the police tackled and arrested him,” Knowles later said in a statement.

“At first I thought this liquid might be some sort of paint. I was later told it was bleach, then later still told it was a non-toxic concoction that merely resembled a dangerous chemical,” he said.

Knowles said that the point of the incident should resonate with conservatives.

“In any case, the message was clear: what happened last night was a warning to conservatives on campus that unless they shut up and kowtow to leftist orthodoxy, they will be silenced, intimidated, and assaulted,” he wrote.

Agrawal later issued a fuller public statement to the campus community.

“A student group brought a speaker to campus — a speaker whose professed opinions do not align with our commitment to diversity and inclusion and our goal of providing a welcoming environment for all people, particularly our LGBT community. Upon learning of this speaker’s visit, members of our UMKC community responded in the best way — by organizing and conducting a counter-event across campus Thursday afternoon focused on positive messages about diversity and inclusion,” he said.

“Then, unfortunately, some others crossed a line. UMKC must maintain a safe environment in which all points of view, even extreme ones, are allowed to be heard.”

The statement did little to satisfy Knowles, who said that the chancellor “not only did not apologize but in fact smeared me as some form of bigot.”

“Chancellor C. Mauli Agrawal is a disgrace to higher education. The assailant as well as the students who screamed throughout the lecture should be expelled from the university, and the assailant should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Enough is enough,” he said.

Knowles had been at the campus to speak to the Young Americans for Freedom, a conservative student group.

So in other words Chancellor Agrawal is teaching propaganda and mind control at this “higher education university” and is making it clear there is no other form of right to free speech there. It sounded very much like a threat to anyone who disagrees with their agenda to teach what is definitely WRONG is right, and no one will be allowed to teach these young people that it is definitely NOT acceptable under the guise of “welcoming” those who they wish to “welcome” and make it perfectly acceptable when it is NOT. My question is if the devil himself… Satan in all his “despicable evil glory” with a host of demons by his side, were to apply for acceptance to this pit of lower education, would they be accepted? This “university” should be shut down until the latest common belief that what is right is wrong and what is wrong is right according to how someone believes and “agrees” that it is with their commitment to diversity and inclusion and their goal of providing a welcoming environment for all people, particularly their LGBT community, which if anyone is being honest and truthful will by their own conscience KNOW that it is NOT good but sinful. This is NOT free speech, it is undermining our most vulnerable young people to accept that morality is a choice when it is not something to choose, it is a condition of life. When our young children are compromised and taught this convoluted way of “morality”, not only our Country but the entire world is compromised by their future actions which will only bring division and disharmony. No “Chancellor” there IS a God and someday we will meet Him face to face and when He asks why His commandments weren’t being taught, under the guise of “acceptance”, there will be NO way He will condone evil. You are teaching the morality of death from which they will not escape unless they learn the Truth. Stop playing with our children’s minds!!!! It is NOT acceptable.

Christine Rossi: Some guy from Nightrider Supply Store just called. He said to tell you that the 200 tinfoil hats and torches you ordered came in and did you want him to send them to the same address they had sent the bedsheets to?

These academic pecksniffs are not the Creator’s issue. He made them just to piss-off folks like you and me. Yep, they’re our problem. I recommend removing the tinfoil hat, then cancel the sheets and torches order. It’s time you “put on the Whole Armor of God.”

You must enroll at UMKC and, through your actions and example, change the spirit-sapping sickness of these sinful Socialist educational enclaves. Let me know how that works out for you.

Yes, that’s the higher education indoctrination centers our children attend… the brainwashing to think that the LGBT community has more rights than the majority.

Be careful kodster. You’re talking about 4.5% of all Americans who now ID as queer. The LBGTQ “community” has more rights because of their slithery, shape-shifting nature. More and various species crop up daily, abetted by progtard professors, media simps and similar shitbirds embedded in our porous cultural infrastructure.

A transgendered, AIDS-infected, asylum-seeking, Butt Buddy with EBOLA and a Honduran MS-13 record, has more rights than you–the moment he sets foot in the US.

Referring to these people as liberals is an injustice. They behave like communist insurgents or brown shirt nazis. Both should be considered domestic enemies. The chancellors comments are wholly one sided and offensive to those who do not subscribe to normalizing deviant behavior. It’s time to stop the descruction of society values. Begin by terminating employment of obviously biased employees.

Apparently UMKC is not as diverse and inclusive as they profess to be. You can’t call yourselves by those terms if you tolerate harrassment of any speaker on your campus. If some students are offended by a speaker, no one is forcing them to attend the lecture. Mr. Knowles was invited to the campus by a the Young Americans for Freedom student group. Apparently there is no freedom of speech on your campus. What a hateful little shit. I hope he is expelled for violating the First Amendment rights of both the speaker and those students who wished to hear what he had to say. Time to rescind federal funding to this university.

What would you expect from ‘institutions’ that push / allow ‘transgender studies’,etc, that in itself is contradictory, biological males parading around a ‘females’, particularly in competitive sports, such as track & field, where these ‘females by choice’ totally dominate over the REAL females. Everything about these places is contradictory, they preach inclusion but deny opposing thoughts, scream diversity while demanding conformity to THEIR point of view. All part of 0bama’s ‘common core’ plot to destroy America:

The article state, “Agrawal later issued a fuller public statement to the campus community. “A student group brought a speaker to campus — a speaker whose professed opinions do not align with our commitment to diversity and inclusion and our goal of providing a welcoming environment for all people, particularly our LGBT community….”” God hates the acts of homosexuality, bi-sexual activity, and transgender acceptance. Yet this college, its leaders, all embrace these acts of sin.

Conservatives have been asked to be tolerant to gays, trannys, Muslims and so much more. In return for tolerance, we get bashed, smashed and attacked at every corner we turn. If we rebel to being subjected to the liberal idiocy, we are called bigots, white supremacists but, here’s the truth. We are the same people that we were for years. Democrats and Republicans used to be Americans first and party members second. That’s the way it was and is supposed to be. Now, though, America is split down the middle. Democrat politicians are leaning further left than they ever have to date. Conservative politicians are remaining on the right but some are still riding the fence. Loyalties are subject on both sides. Socialism, the form of government that has failed throughout history, is fast becoming a threat to our Republic. Conservatives who voice their opinions are attacked for voicing their opinions and/or freedom of speech. Minority “entities” are rising up to push Conservatives around, now, too. The problem is, every single thing has a breaking point. A rope can only stand so much weight before it breaks. Everything and everybody has their own breaking point. Everyone thinks that they are right. The past administration spied on the Trump campaign because of lies started by their own Democrats. An investigation starts but, 2 years later ends with no finding of Russian collusion. This isn’t good enough for the Dems. Now, however, the hunted becomes the hunter and more investigations will ensue. This time, though, collusion, obstruction, treason and much more information showing a ‘coup’ against this current administration, things are heating up daily and becoming much more obvious as to the crimes committed. Who is going to loose in the end we will have to wait and find out but it is plain that America has already been divided into two parties. The Socialist and the Republican parties. God bless this country, Lord…

First of all, Tucker’s response was weak. Second, and most important, share this story with common sense friends and relatives. To show the media hypocrisy, even FN is at falt for giving the dim witted libs the undeserving freedom to squash conservative thinking.

Chancellor C. Mauli Agrawal should step down as Chancellor in light of the fact that he somehow found a typical leftist bigoted way to defend the disrupting leftist students who screamed and then sent in an attacker on Knowles who had been at the campus to speak to the Young Americans for Freedom, a conservative student group. YOU MUST STEP DOWN AS CHANCELLOR, C. Mauli Agrawal.

Can’t M.U find an An American Chancellor., non biased? Guess after the debaucle at M.U. a couple years ago the University learned nothing. They had to cut programs, loose tachers, their money train from donors all but dried up because of the bullshit they were allowing on campus.Hope the same thing happens again. Maybe they will close the joint down. Sounds like all it is now is a Left Wing Indoctrination center.
