Billionaire Mark Cuban said Tuesday that there is “nobody right now” among the pool of Democratic presidential candidate hopefuls that could beat President Donald Trump in the 2020 election.

And he hasn’t ruled out all possibilities of running for president in 2020, although he admitted it would take the “perfect storm” to get him to throw his hat in the ring.

“We’ll see what happens,” Cuban told Scott Wapner in a phone interview on CNBC’s “Fast Money Halftime Report.” “Look, I’ve said it many times, it would take the perfect storm for me to do it.”

The 60-year-old Dallas Mavericks owner doesn’t expect to add his name to the ever-growing list of hopefuls.

“You know the definition of bad parenting is running for president when you have three young kids — 9, 12 and 15 — so there are some things that could open the door, but I’m not projecting or predicting it right now.”

Cuban said there are no standout candidates among the nearly two dozen Democrats vying for the nomination.

“There’s nobody that stands out,” he said, adding that it’s still “too early to tell.”
He told CNBC that he likes Joe Biden and that he believes the former vice president could do a “decent job.”

“I like Vice President Biden I think he’s smart. I think he could do a decent job, but I think it’s way too early to tell,” Cuban said.

The ABC “Shark Tank” star said that he believes a non-politician would face the best odds against Trump.

“I think what people are missing is you know if you look at why people voted for Donald Trump, in my opinion, it was because he was, first and foremost, it was because he wasn’t a politician,” Cuban explained.

“If you look at the Democratic field, it’s all politicians and politicians are the least trusted of every profession,” he continued. “I still think there’s a real opportunity for somebody who is you know in the middle, has some charisma, has the ability to relate to both sides but is not a politician. The reality is people don’t trust politicians, Period. End of story.

“It’s hard to look at the ideas the Democratic candidates are proposing and think that they are there any more than just as headline porn to get attention,” Cuban said. “I don’t think they believe what they’re proposing is passable.”

If he decided to make a presidential run, Cuban said he would run as independent.

In 2016, he had floated the idea of running for president but later said he thought he could make a bigger impact doing other things.

Right on, Dave! Cuban is mistaken when he says we don’t trust politicians. It’s democrats we don’t trust. He’s as delusional as the rest of the democrats who are running.

Politicians were not that well trusted but since the last election, they were so ignorant and overconfident that the general people would not see through their lies, that people rather compares a politician to a “mob”member than to a lawmaker.
I am 70 years young and my parents have instilled a healthy dose of NOT trusting politicians:
    * When a Politician promises to do something, look at the alternative as that is more than likely what you are going to get !
    * When a Politician shakes your hand, be sure to count your fingers afterwards !
    * When Politicians actually make true on their promise, you better check your bank-account as you more than likely have paid for it as well as unknowingly having paid him for stealing it from you in the first place !!!
