Ahead of the show’s landmark 150th episode, Fox has renewed “Last Man Standing” for Season 8 to run through 2019 and 2020.

News of the Tim Allen-led show’s new season order came from Michael Thorn, president of entertainment for Fox. Season 8 will mark the show’s second season airing on the network, after being canceled in Season 6 at its original home on ABC.

“Hard to believe ‘Last Man Standing’ hits 150 episodes this week and it gets better with another upcoming season at FOX!” Allen said in a statement.

“Great news for all of us who are creating these stories and working our pants off to make you all laugh. It’s another big high-five to the legions of loyal fans who have faithfully kept us front and center and huge on the radar. Thanks to our family at FOX who continue to make us feel so at home. Man, if we keep this up, they might have to call our show: ‘Last Man Unable to Stand.’”

Thorn echoed those sentiments in a statement of his own.

“‘Last Man Standing’ roared out of the gate on FOX, and has maintained its ratings dominance ever since,” Thorn said.

“Much of that credit goes to the incredibly funny and talented Tim Allen, not to mention Nancy, Hector and the rest of the show’s great cast. We’d like to thank Kevin, Matt and the entire crew, along with our partners at 20th Century Fox Television, for overseeing one of television’s most popular comedies. We’d also like to congratulate them all on reaching 150 episodes — a milestone that’s well-deserved.”

The show is a ratings winner for the network, averaging more than 11 million multiplatform viewers per episode. It stands as the No. 1 scripted program on Friday nights. While viewers seem to enjoy the Baxter family antics, the show has been criticized in the past for its politically right leanings.

Allen previously addressed the issue to Fox News, arguing that he simply wants the show to deliver enjoyable family-oriented content.

“My comedy has been the same since I’ve been doing it for 33 years and it’s about the ultimate political divide — (between) men and women,” he said at. “I’ve been doing that — and that’s all it’s about. And underneath all of that is that you just don’t get the other side, but you love the other side.”

Fans can tune into the 150th episode on Friday. According to the episode’s synopsis from Fox, it will feature Mike Baxter trying to get his daughter’s clothing line off the ground by helping her pitch to an aggressive sales representative played by guest star Melissa Peterman.

yeah, now Fox will keep moving Left as I have seen the beginning of on the news sector. They have crumbled to the demands of Leftists. But Last Man Standing is a unique comedy that hopefully will live as long as I Love Lucy on the reruns. Good comedy is hard to find so we must keep the good ones we had and currently have.

This is one of the best shows on TV. We watch it faithfully every week without fail. Tim Allen is the best and always makes us laugh. It’s a shame we can’t have clean shows to watch without all the blood and guts, killing and sex. Keep it up, we will be here watching.

When Fox picked up the show I was as happy as anyone. But they have so totally screwed it up it’s unwatchable. New Mandy totally sucks. Grownup Boyd was a huge mistake. Revamped Kyle totally blows big chunks. And why oh why in the hell did they feel that they needed to add an Asian chick with the personality of a won-ton dumpling? The best thing about the new incarnation is chunky Kristin. Only time I watch it now is if there’s just pretty much no other option.

The liberal fools at ABC probably deeply regret canceling that now. Brainless buffoons. But, show me one smart liberal; there aren’t any.

Ha! You are sooo right! Roseanne was cancelled and they later regretted that. The new version didn’t survive without the leading lady which I think we all knew. She made the show what it was, funny. She said something, I forget what, and was thrown off but certain people can say something about something serious that happened and nothing is done. I don’t get it.

Roseanne is working on doing another show….they’re working on what platform it will be presented on….it’ll be Free, she said, no matter how we’re able to see it. I watch Lionel Nation on YouTube= they’re personal friends.

I tried watching this show, I love Tim Allen and his other show, I just don’t find this funny. I also miss his other wife, it seemed like they went together, not Tim and this other woman.

Stick with it awhile and it will grow on you. I felt the same way at first, but she turns out to be so ditzy and insecure and the kids are so funny.

Great! Too bad they couldn’t have swooped in and take “Roseann” from ABC as well , but then again, With Roseann being the only “Adult” and Conservative person on the show, I dont know if FOX would even care to deal with the rest of the cast! (bunch of two faced Liberal D-bags!) They showed not one bit of solidarity to the person who launched all their careers (except for John Goodman who was already on the rise) instead they talked s**t about her, Smug little Hollywood elitists!

congrats on another season..but if in fact Disney does own FOX then we will end up losing a great funny show..Because they won’t let a conservative view point be shown for long…
