After an attempted terror attack by a self-identified far-left Antifa member against an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Tacoma, Washington on Saturday, a reporter from Rebel Media asked freshmen Democrats if they would condemn the attack, Antifa violence, and violence in general. Unsurprisingly, “fresh face” lawmakers, namely Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), and Ilhan Omar (D-MN), refused to utter such a simple condemnation.
Omar, amazingly, apparently thought the questioning was funny, laughing when she was asked about the far-left violence.
“Will you condemn Antifa?” the Rebel’s Keean Bexte asked Ocasio-Cortez and Omar. “Do you feel like you have any sort of responsibility for their actions?”
Both freshman congresswomen remained silent.
“It’s just like your brother — when you ignore the questions about you marrying your brother, your couldn’t answer it,” he said. “Do you feel responsible for the violent attack abasing the ICE facility?”
As reported by The Daily Wire last month, questions surrounding Omar’s apparent marriage to her alleged brother resurfaced when newly-discovered documents suggested the representative lived with her current husband, Ahmed Abdisalan Hirsi, while being legally married to Omar’s alleged brother, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi.
“It kinda blew up in your face when you didn’t respond about your brother — it made it look like you married him,” Bexte said. “You could finish that question now, if you have an answer. Did you marry your brother?”
Omar, stone-faced, again refused to answer.
“Do you feel like you bear any responsibility for what happened?” the reporter continued. “Ms. Cortez, do you feel responsible at all?”
Directing his attention to both representatives, Bexte against asked: “Will you tell Americans not to be violent anymore?”
This is when Rep. Omar, holding her Starbucks drink, is seen and heard laughing on video.
The man who attacked the ICE facility over the weekend reportedly “used the same ‘concentration camp’ rhetoric” popularized by Ms. Ocasio-Cortez in his manifesto.
“The United States is running concentration camps on our southern border and that is exactly what they are,” Ocasio-Cortez said in June.
“They are concentration camps. And, um, if that doesn’t bother you, I don’t, I don’t know, I like, we can have, okay whatever.” The open socialist then mentioned the phrase, “Never Again,” a reference to the Holocaust.
People, particularly politicians, refuse to answer very straightforward questions when the answer will incriminate them, or worse, make them unelectable. Just like when @Ilhan could not say "I did not marry my brother", she can not say "Terrorism is bad, even if it is Antifa." pic.twitter.com/nLnime5Q44
